Why Choose 75mm Gull Netting?
In large-scale bird proofing, the goal is to use the largest mesh possible that still excludes the target species. The 75mm mesh is specifically sized for gulls; it offers the lowest wind resistance and the least visual impact of any bird net. This makes it the ideal choice for high-exposure rooftop installations where maintaining the building's aesthetic and reducing the load on fixing points are critical.
Key Technical Features
75mm Gull-Proof Mesh: Optimized to prevent gulls from landing or nesting. Because the mesh is large, it is the most discrete option available for architectural protection.
Maximum Airflow & Low Wind Load: The wide mesh allows wind to pass through with minimal resistance, significantly reducing the tension on your wire rope system and fixings during storms.
High-Tenacity Knotted Polyethylene: Manufactured using a 12/6 knotted construction. Unlike cheap extruded plastic, this net will not stretch, keeping the mesh uniform and secure over long distances.
UV-Stabilised & Weatherproof: Designed for the harshest coastal environments. Our netting is rot-proof, waterproof, and UV-treated to ensure a lifespan of 10+ years in direct sunlight.
Lightweight Yet Strong: Despite its high break-strength, the 75mm mesh is incredibly lightweight, making it easier and safer to install across large spans and high-reach areas.
Installation & Measuring Advice
How to Measure
Calculate the total area by measuring the maximum length and width.
Important: For 75mm netting, we recommend adding 10-15% extra to both dimensions. Large mesh sizes can "draw in" significantly when tensioned; having this extra material ensures you have a professional finish without over-stretching the twine.
Application Tip
Because gull netting is often used on roofs, it is frequently installed horizontally. Ensure you have robust intermediate fixings (every 0.5m to 1m) to prevent the net from sagging, which could allow gulls to land on top of the netting itself.

1. Will this net stop pigeons or starlings?
No. Pigeons and starlings are small enough to fly straight through a 75mm mesh. This netting is designed strictly for gulls. If you have a mixed bird problem, we recommend our 50mm Pigeon Netting or 28mm Starling Netting.
2. Can this be used to protect solar panels?
Yes, it is often used as a perimeter barrier for solar arrays on flat roofs to prevent gulls from nesting underneath the panels.
3. Is the black netting more visible than translucent/clear netting?
Counter-intuitively, black netting is the most discrete option. Clear or translucent netting reflects sunlight and becomes white over time due to UV damage, making it highly visible. Black absorbs light and "disappears" against most backgrounds and the sky.
4. How does the weight compare to smaller meshes?
This is our lightest netting. Because there is more space and less twine per square metre, it puts significantly less strain on your mounting hardware, making it the safest choice for very large spans.
5. Can you return this product?
Unfortunately, because this is custom cut-to-size, the item is non-returnable. Please double check your dimensions when ordering.
All our products are dispatched from the United Kingdom, with 1000's available for next day delivery (order by 1pm) and many more in 2-4 working days. For custom-made or made-to-order items, delivery times may vary, and any exceptions will be clearly indicated during the checkout process.
