1. What's the difference between the three lock options?
The combination lock allows keyless code access — ideal for shared teams. The seal latch uses a twist-open mechanism with a padlock loop, so you can fit your own padlock for added security. The key lock provides a traditional keyed solution, best suited where access needs to be restricted to a named individual such as a fire marshal or building manager. All three variants share the same cabinet body and dimensions.
2. What documents will fit inside the cabinet?
The holder is designed for a standard A4 fire safety log book or maintenance record. With internal dimensions of W246 x H343 x D55mm, it comfortably accommodates a single A4-format log book or a modest stack of loose A4 documents. It is not designed to hold ring binders or lever arch files.
3. Can the cabinet be wall-mounted?
The cabinet is designed to be freestanding on a shelf or surface. If wall mounting is a requirement for your site, please contact our team on 0161 531 0948 and we'll be happy to advise.
4. Why is the cabinet red?
Red is the universally recognised colour for fire safety equipment, ensuring the cabinet is immediately identifiable in an emergency and consistent with other fire safety signage on site. It also signals to anyone entering a building exactly where critical fire safety documentation is stored.
5. Is this cabinet suitable for use in a commercial or regulated environment?
Yes. This cabinet is designed specifically for commercial premises, including offices, warehouses, schools, care homes, and any site with fire safety compliance requirements. It provides a dedicated, clearly identifiable storage solution for fire safety documentation, helping to support compliance with fire safety regulations and simplify document retrieval during audits or inspections.
