Ensure maximum structural integrity with our Double Cover Concrete Spacers. These heavy-duty, cement-based spacers are designed to support heavy reinforcement steel in both horizontal and vertical applications. Featuring a dual-height design, each block provides two different cover options, making them a versatile and essential choice for site-poured concrete.

Our Double Cover Concrete Spacers are manufactured from high-strength, fibre-reinforced concrete, designed to match the characteristics of the surrounding pour. Unlike plastic spacers, these concrete blocks have the same thermal expansion coefficient as the slab itself, ensuring a perfect bond and eliminating the risk of "shadowing" or weak points in the finished structure. Each spacer is engineered with a dual-height profile. By simply rotating the block, you can achieve two different cover depths (e.g., 40mm or 50mm), allowing you to meet varying project specifications with a single product. These are specifically designed for heavy-duty applications: such as bridge decks, industrial floor slabs, and heavy foundations, where plastic spacers might crush under the weight of thick rebar or heavy foot traffic. The integrated tie-wire hole (on applicable models) or the stable flat-base design ensures they stay securely in place during the most demanding concrete pours.

Material: High-strength, fibre-reinforced concrete (Non-flammable).

Available Sizes (Dual-Height):

25/30mm

40/50mm

60/75mm

Load Capacity: Exceptional compressive strength for heavy reinforcement.

Thermal Compatibility: Matches concrete expansion/contraction to prevent cracks.

Application: Heavy-duty floor slabs, foundations, civil engineering, and fire-rated structures.

1. Why choose concrete spacers over plastic ones?

Concrete spacers are much stronger and won't compress under heavy loads. Because they are made of a similar material to the pour, they provide a better bond and maintain the fire resistance and water-tightness of the structure more effectively than plastic.

2. How do the dual-height sizes work?

Each spacer has two different dimensions depending on its orientation. For example, the 40/50mm spacer will give you 40mm of cover if laid on one side, and 50mm if flipped 90 degrees. This reduces the number of different products you need to stock on-site.

3. Are these suitable for vertical work, like walls?

Yes. While they are most common in horizontal slabs due to their high load capacity, they can be used in vertical applications. For very high-speed wall pours, ensure they are secured to the rebar to prevent shifting.

4. Will they show on the surface of the finished concrete?

Because they are made from concrete, they blend in far better than plastic. When used correctly, they become an integral part of the structure with minimal to no visible footprint on the surface.

5. Are these spacers fire-rated?

Yes. Since they are made of concrete, they are inherently fire-resistant and do not produce toxic fumes or melt, making them the standard choice for projects with strict fire safety requirements.
