1. How is the Ceiling Tile Absorbent Pad installed?
Installation is exceedingly straightforward and requires no tools. Simply lift the affected ceiling tile from the grid, place one of the absorbent pads directly on top of the tile's upward-facing surface, and carefully replace the tile. The pad is designed to rest flush and discreetly on the tile.
2. Can this pad handle a major leak, or is it only suitable for small drips?
This product is specifically engineered for minor nuisance drips and small leaks. For significant water ingress or a high-volume leak, we strongly recommend deploying a dedicated PIG® Leak Diverter Tarp system to manage and redirect the large volume of fluid away from the affected area.
3. Will the pad become saturated and cause the ceiling tile to sag or collapse?
The pad itself is lightweight, and though it is heavyweight absorbent material, the overall weight is considered low-profile. It's designed to contain water without adding excessive weight. However, we do recommend routine inspection to ensure the pad isn't saturated and to address the underlying leak source promptly.
4. What types of fluids can this polypropylene pad absorb effectively?
The pad utilises a universal absorbent composition, meaning it is highly effective at capturing a wide range of common industrial and building fluids. This includes general water ingress, glycols, coolants, oils, and numerous solvents, offering versatile protection for the ceiling tile.
5. How does the pad prevent staining of the ceiling tile?
The pad features an integral poly backing on its underside. This non-permeable layer acts as a definitive barrier, ensuring that once the fluid is absorbed and held within the polypropylene fibres, it cannot leach through the pad and subsequently discolour or stain the vulnerable face of the ceiling tile.
